ERROR Caution!  Please use a romex connector, where you make a hole for the house power wires, to enter the fan mounting box.  This connector will stop vibrations from slowly cutting through your power wires, should they rub against the sharp, knocked out opening of that mounting box, due to the constant vibration of the fan.  Please don't burn your house down on a time delay.   2. They need to CHANGE the title of this video to 'How to REPLACE a Ceiling Fan'; these are NOT instructions on how to start from scratch and actually INSTALL a ceiling fan.

  3. Okay, now, I had a fan where the motor no longer worked. I picked up a replacement on sale. Proceeding to replace, I found two wires, one led to neutral on the original fan, the other capped to the light and motor wires. The fan's instructions relate to three wire outlets. Also, there is a bare ground wire in the mounting plate; no such connection in the original. I've been hesitant to jump forward.
